IT ALL STARTED WHEN I STUMBLED UPON MY FAMILY’S FILM CAMERAS.

They were dusted over with rolls of film stuck inside. Some were tools in my grandfather’s lab, used to measure the growth of the plants he studied. Others were the sidekick of my dad, purposeful for capturing the changing lives of his three daughters. What stuck with me the most was the camera’s ability to capture change and stillness intertwined. The photos I took on those cameras, even at the age of 12, seamlessly told the story of the present as I aged. The photos were perfect, because they captured the essence of my spirit.

Today, I have the honor of retelling love in its most authentic form. From weddings where joy overflows and warmth becomes a state-of-being to engagements that celebrate a new season of being, stillness has been the everlasting gift in those photos albums. My hope is that everyone experiences photos that don’t need words to tell their story.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Great question! I have a deep reverence for those who fall unapologetically, madly in love. I know that their love isn’t perfect; my photos don’t aim to capture perfect. Instead, I thrive when people are authentically themselves, and that is what I want to document. On wedding days, I see that truth in not only my clients, but the people around them. I want to create photos that don’t need words to describe them, because the feelings evoked are tangible.

  • First, clients (I call them friends) will fill out my contact form. This gives me a sense of values, priorities, visions. Then, we will hop on a call. This is the most important step because it lets us connect in ways that an email doesn’t. After our call, if we are a good fit for each other, I will send a proposal with a contract and an invoice.

  • It all started will film cameras. When I was 12, I began fiddling around with a Pentax K1000 SLR, and I seriously took it everywhere. From the Cool Springs Mall to 8th grade Halloween parties to cheer competitions in Kentucky, it quickly became my sidekick. I think this experience allowed to me to fully understand what “slowness” means when shooting, because I only had 36 shots. I moved intentionally, but captured everything that made my heart sing. As I got older, I explored with digital cameras, which required me to up my game. I learned the in-and-outs of photography from books my dad bought me or Tumblr (lol). Eventually, I found peace when working with seniors, because that is what stage of life I was in.

When I went to college at the University of Missouri, I studied Journalism. I learned the basic, foundational skills of photojournalism that became the pillars of my work. During this time, I began to shoot weddings, and I fell in love with what being a wedding photographer meant. To me, I saw significance in knowing that a wedding day has entirely nothing to do with me, rather it should center on the shared gratitude towards two people who continuously choose each other. It is a beautiful thing to witness.

  • Absolutely. 100%. Sneak peek photos come within 24 hours of your wedding or elopement.

  • First, we will work out the logistics, meaning the lodging, flights, transfers, etc. In your proposal, travel costs are included. After, we will work on intentionally planning your wedding day. Depending on what you are needing, I will help with location scouting, vendors, timeline, etc.

  • Yes! I have a running list of amazing wedding vendors that I use for referrals. These are folks who I would want at my own wedding.
